Living a Great Lake Life

About

I discovered the joy of living along Lake Erie at the ripe, old age of 3 months. My parents moved my siblings and me into a sprawling, 1920s cottage on the Cedar Point peninsula. With Lake Erie across the road, Sandusky Bay in our backyard and Cedar Point Amusement Park just a mile down the road, it was the perfect place to grow up. This was home for the next 24 years.

Once I got my English degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio,  I longed for the life  the Beach Boys sang about in their songs.  I wanted to be a “Surfer Girl” and write for a living.  So my sister and I packed up our twin Chevettes and headed to Southern California.

1987 was a big year in California for more than just my hair. That year I got my first and only perm, became a REALTOR, started selling houses like crazy, got pregnant and had my one and only child.

Lake Erie and Ohio called me back to Erie County in 1999. My family and I moved to Huron and built a home near Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Preserve.  It’s one of my favorite places to go for a run and watch eagles soaring overhead. I love that it’s practically right next door.

Writing, health and fitness, interior decorating, photography and travel are lifelong passions.  My 25-year career in real estate sales and marketing and my choice to live close to an endless body of water (where you can’t see land on the other side) help me indulge these passions.

My mission is to help others find their own sweet spot along Lake Erie. Whether you’re here for a day or here to stay, the memories you make along the lake will last a lifetime.
